Semax is studied for focus and alertness, and can feel stimulating. Selank is studied for reducing anxiety without sedation. People pair them hoping for focus without the edge.
What the research shows
Both are registered medicines in Russia, with mostly small Russian studies. There are no studies of the two together, and little Western research on either.

- Semax can cause anxiety or irritability in some people
